Found this (what's left of it) folded and tucked in with the rough I scored at auction yesterday. About flipped when I saw the date on it! Pretty neat!

very cool. just noticed that it was sold to someone in Flint Michigan. That's about 45 minutes from my house.

30 cents for Congolese malachite, even if it is only 1x1 piece seems like a great price now. But I just checked and in 1941 good sirloin steak was 22cents a pound! So maybe it wasn't so good.

Ol' Wilfred tore the price side off so his wife wouldn't know how much money he'd "wasted" on rocks. That's a very cool piece of history.

Found these today in a bucket of rough. Again they're in pretty bad shape, but they must have come with this purchase back in '41. The guy passed this year at 103, so he picked up this lot when he was in his thirties.
