Tumbled up some agates I found in the hinterlands of MT.... Starting to figure out how to get a shine, but still plenty to learn. Really need to tune up the photography program - thin I am gonna build a simple light box. Anyways - enjoy Shwaggy filler Not so shwaggy filler (nibbles and endcuts) Some agate nodule pieces from a ridge near line I hiked this summer Peachy Madison blues - I luv this stuff Jasper-agate found with the Madi-blue Mo petwood - I really luv this stuff

All the pics are not shared on flickr for me, it wants me to log in and when I do I don't have permission to view them. It may be the Android proboards app though.

you have some nice materials to work with. That peach one is my favorite and those blues are cool too.

The blues are usually ghostly. Those are fine. Especially the one in the center of the blue pile.

Really nice tumble, Andy! Good color in some of those MTs. Sweet pile of 'blues too. I also am taken with pet wood. The variety of types of wood amazes me, and though our woods are not brightly colored, I find the natural tones to be very pleasing.

Thanks all. I will try to take/post new picks later today that really show the blue. These shots dont capture its color well, but James nailed some of them have a ghostly character too them. Some of the MT filler was a test run for how cabs would fair in my setup - I am happy with the results and plan to try in the next few weeks.
Bill - I have a bit of the blue around, just cant bring myself to breaking it up to tumble. But this batch may make me sacrifice some more!
Cheers

Andy, I would encourage you to cab any pieces that you can and then tumble the rest. That stuff is not going to get any easier to come by. . . I have three small chunks I've been hoarding. I took the liberty of adjusting the light levels in one of your shots. (Free program, easy to use quickly, FastStone)

So on the android and ipad proboards apps for some reason it just shows the images as links, but I looked at the web version and those are great.
Nice tumble and the shine is really well done.
That blue is new to me and is really nice. Thanks for pics of a great tumble.

Thanks for the show, good variety and color. Hoping to go thru MT. next year, your show is a good incentive to stop even more often, and we normally stop a lot. Larry

Thanks Bill! These were mostly surface chips I had collected. Going to high grade a few out and try to rework as cabs, maybe keep a couple free form for jewlery. Someday I will get the nerve up to try wrapping then I will be for jonesing for inventory. I will still try to hoot some close ups when I can. Just picked up parts (<$10 worth) for a light box. Glad you all enjoyed.
