Shipped commonly in 55 gallon drums holds net 220 kilograms(484 pounds) wrapped in newspapers. Seven years ago my friend paid $3-4/pound for polished Brazilian agate slabs in 55 gallon drum quantities. Since China bought so many of the mines his price was heading past $12/pound couple years ago I think they weighed 600+ pounds and had no newspaper or padding.

Polished slabs! Wow!
30 years ago Bob Rollins of Orem Utah (now deceased) bought the rough agate in large wooden crates. Probably 100 lbs/crate. I don't know the price he paid.

He used to go to Brazil and pick from shops all over the area. It took 10 years to find honest people.
They would get lower rate to fill the drum and the last 20 percent on top was AAA. He had the most incredible slabs. like i never see anywhere.
