I had wrapped this Montana agate cab awhile ago and a customer looked at it and said she really liked that stone but she preferred a wrap without and extra swirls or curls so I re-wrapped it last night and while I was at it I switched from square wire to round. Round wire is still way more difficult for me to work with :-) Here's the before shot And here's the after Thanks for looking Chuck

Nice work Chuck.
I'll disagree the customer is not always right.
But they are NEVER wrong.

Scott- The customer with cash in their hand is always right, lol I cant say I always agree with their decisions but it work out very well this time.
I found out at the last show we did that most people will look at the tray full of wire wraps and say "I like this stone but I really like this other wire wrap technique on this other one but I don't really like that stone". In other words they would like to mix and match and that makes sense since we all have different taste.

Both of those wraps are beautiful with that cab. I am more partial to the first one but the simplicity of the second one is great too. My hat's off to you for using round wire, I've only done it a few times and hated it.

What a bummer you had to scrap the silver, but you came up with a really sleek wrap. Round takes some getting used to but you seem to have a good grasp of being able to control the wire. I would recommend, though, when using round the bindings slide a little easier. It is better to turn you wires in at the bindings to keep them from riding up the wire. Your wrapping has really come a long ways in a short time.

Wow that's really beautiful both times Chuck. and an awesome stone too. Your bail on the second one is incredibly clean and organized. I wish mine could come out even close to that neat.

Tela- Thanks for the tip. I can see where that would be an issue. I think this one worked out since the binding area was so long but if it were just a 4-5 wrap binding it may be more likely to slide around.
Tommy- Thanks. I really liked this bail so I tried to get a good photo of it.

I was at a show recently and they were wrapping stones on the spot however you wanted for an extra fee, or if you bought the cab from someone else, they would wrap it with the price depending on the size, material. But either way still not too expensive.
