We have a fair amount of calcite (mostly clear crystals and some yellow fat, maybe 1/2" or more, slabs) that we have no clue what to do with. Any suggestions?

If they are specimen collection quality or if they are fluorescent, they have value to some collectors. I have also seen carved calcite figurines from China. Outside of that, you can dissolve it in acid and marvel at the bubbles of CO2 coming off it. A great demo for school kids. It's too soft to have much lapidary value.
