Friday cabs & Friday night wraps Brown agate - I hadn't realized it was crooked until I saw the photos lol Not sure what stone this is. Blue - I can never keep the name of this in my memory.. This is the last of the emerald crystals I picked up at a local rock show. Probably my best wrap of the day. Tiger Iron - I ended up with the center wire on the right side, crossed over the front wire =\ Tela - I AM practicing lol. Hope everyone is staying warm this weekend! Roger

I think the blue one is sodalite?
I wouldn't have noticed the mistake on the tiger iron if you hadn't pointed it out. We can be our own worst critics. The wrap on the emerald crystal is my favorite with the tiger iron a close second.

Thanks Amy I wrapped a couple more today - I am going to get better at wrapping. I cabbed this labradorite this morning and wrapped it black with blue wire accents. Mahogany Jasper The wraps could have been a little tighter but I am happy with them both Roger

That mahogany jasper is a beautiful cab and a very nice wrap. Nice job. Did you twist the wire yourself?

I didn't twist the wire, I purchased it pre-twisted. I ordered my pin vise last week and it should be in this coming week. I also have some bailing pliers coming and a ton of wire lol.

You are really working hard! I see lots of improvement. I really think that tiger iron is the best of the first batch. It came out great. The lab is awesome, too, but I really like that mahogany. Wait till you get some proper tools and wire, you'll be amazed how much easier it is with the right tools.

Have you ever looked at Randy's tutorial on how to twist wire? He uses a drill and a pair of pliers, way quicker than a pin vise especially if you have a drill. I can't find the link but I know it was posted on here somewhere, maybe someone else can find it.
