Finally the American fossils are making a come back and the prices are climbing! The ammonites,scaphites and baculites have tripled in prices! I have a nice pile of them,knew they would price up again,one year..... Thumbs up....

LOL Mike. Good for you guys that can still get out there and hunt them. Not so good for us old geezers who find ourselves restricted to buying them off ebay or trading for them.

Well Don,I have 20 years of fossils stashed away....LOL Plus I do some fossil hunting when in Montana....Wish I could hunt more of the Montana and South Dakota fossils more than two days a year...

The Morocco fossils flooded the market about 18 years ago! I bet people are getting tired of junk and phony fossils from that area! I had a few,but disliked them,gave them away....Would never own another fossil from there! Hope the prices stay up for the fossils here in the states for awhile anyhow!

Fossils from Morocco and China are for the most part phony. The stuff from Morocco is mostly made up of bits and pieces of fossils glued together, and glued to man made matrix. All of those "fossil amphibians" coming out of china are castings, very artistically painted and aged. If it doesn't come from China with the red government seal attached, it's phony.
Lately there have been a few fossils coming out of South America that have been doctored up too.
