I know I haven't posted in a while been really busy with work. I had the chance to make a piece of jewelry for a contest at work here is the complete pin and a video of the process of the pin being made. I had to get the video close to 5 minutes so there is a lot of editing. The original video was 30 minutes long. The pin is a fine silver casting with enamel and an onyx center. Link to the video

One one hand it was completely awesome to see nearly the entire process. On the other hand I may have had a seizure at some point from all that!
Thanks for posting that entire process.

Your slab saw is too clean. This means you are either a mad genius, or you don't cut enough. Based on today's topic, I am gonna assume you are a mad genius! Awesome pin.
Didya win?
Where do-ya work?

Not a made genius. I just moved recently and emptied and cleaned the saw before moving. That's the first time it ran since moving. Didn't win but placed in the top 10. I work for Autodesk and the contest was hard to judge since it was everything from robots to jewelry. Honestly I used this more as an opportunity to force myself to get things unpacked and to get me back making things again.
Thanks for asking.

I'm with John,,,I had to pause the video a few times to try to see what was going on,,,,and try to learn something! LOL Old brains don't process "data" as fast as they used to! I was thinking exactly the same as shotgunner when I saw the saw! LOL The pin is awesome and maybe next time you'll win! Thanks for posting this,,,, connrock

So beautiful! Thank you for showing the work hidden behind this beauty. Would also be nice to watch how you set the stones.
You have quite a shop: vacuum machine, saw, flat lap, band saw. Does that grinder have its own water cooling system, or did someone spray water on the cutting are? If so, it's good for you that water and electricity did not meet.
