Can you believe it? Woke up this morning to a blanket of white snow again! I think maybe the glaciers are returning. Ron

Is that normal for your area. I know when we got snow on April 12th it was a bit of a surprise for those of us in KS.

It actually snowed on April 13th here in north GA. It was our anniversary and the news had predicted it, so we stayed up just long enough to see it happen. (We love snow. only see it 2 or 3 times a winter.)

You could have gladly had some of the snow that was around here last winter. I had 18" on the roof of my garage and 3' in the back yard

Please pass the sunshine! All we have had here in Texas is rain, rain, and more rain! Very unusual for Texas this time of year. It is usually warm, sunny and beautiful by April, but this April we have had days and days of rain, one or two days of sun, then more rain. We are all really hatin' it!

Hey Llana, I must agree I'm getting a little wearey of all the cloudy days and rainey weekends and they're predicting more storms for tonight or tomorrow, but if we don't get the rain now you know we won't get it in June thru August. Just bright sun and 100 deg and the lakes and rivers would be dry. All this rain we've been getting this spring is just setting us up for a great summer. You know what they say: "If you don't like the weather in Texas, stick around". I stopped trying to predict the weather around here in the winter, but the summer will almost invariably be hot and dry.

snow is such a rarity for us that if (and that's a big if) we get some that actually sticks to the ground all the schools and businesses close. it doesn't have to be much to cause this. everyone says they can't drive and then you drive all the way across the county and there everybody is sliding down the levy. and if you should fly off the road which many of us do it's ok because in just a minute some good ole redneck with a big truck and chain will show up and if he can't get you out he'll call in reinforcements with more beer ;D.
my 5 y/o has seen one snow when she was 2. she doesn't remember it.

You don't have to tell me about TX rain. My first day at Scarbourgh Faire in Waxahachie I was only able to go for a few hours because of the rain. Although it was interesting trying to keep my shoes on when they were caked with mud. Tami

Hey Tami, snow any time in April is not unusual. It's been a while since we had any this late though. The last several years the winters have been milder with less snow. Generally though, the weather is better in April in Anchorage, Alaska than it is here! I have MS which is a disease of the central nervous system and anytime the temperature gets above 75 degrees I start to have more problems. I have to stay inside in the air conditioning. Wish it could stay October all year long. Weather in October here is just about perfect! I've always been a little skeptical about global warming, but sometimes I wonder. For several years now our winters have kept getting milder with less and less snow and the rainfall in the spring and summer aren't what they used to be. You can see the effect when you visit the Great Lakes. The water levels have dropped so far, some people that I know with lakefront cottages are now a half mile from the beach!

I was a Physical Therapist Assistant for 15 years so I am somewhat familiar with MS, but I didn't know warmer weather would make it flare up. You taught me something new. Thank you. Tami

Bob, I really have tried not to complain about so much rain because I know how it is in July and August, but after all the rain and cold during the winter, I am really ready for some sunshine! Also have several outside jobs lined up, but can't do them until the rain goes away. I have been trying to get a fence pressure washed and painted for 2 months! Finally got it pressure washed, now just need a few days of good hot sunshine to dry it out so I can start the painting. Tami, I can relate to the mud. I am feeding 5 horses for a lady and suppose to be gentling/training them, but I haven't been able to work with them at all because it has been so nasty out there. I have to walk through ankle deep mud mixed with horse **** just to feed them. Yesterday I walked out to the water tank to make sure they had plenty of water and sunk ankle deep in a few spots. UCK! Ron, have you ever had either a hair analysis, blood and/or urinalysis done for heavy metal poisioning? Reason I ask is because if you met my brother in law, you would think he has MS. In January he starting having some problems very indicative of MS. He went to a nutritionist recommended by someone in his church and had blood and urinalysis done and discovered he has both lead and mercury poisioning. When I found out about it, I started doing some research and found out that in many cases, MS, Parkinson's Disease, migraine headches, Alzheimers and numerous other conditions are misdiagnosed and are actually heavy metal poisioning. A high school friend's wife has suffered from what was diagnosed as fibryomalgia for years, then they had a hair analysis done and found out she had lead/mercury poisioning! It is rare that a doctor tests for heavy metal poisoning anymore unless specifically asked to do so. So, if you have never had that done, you might want to check into it. ESP if you have mercury fillings in your teeth (most of us do) and low cholesterol. I, and my brother in law's nutritionist, firmly believe he has the heavy metal poisoning because of his low cholsteral(138) . Most people don't know that the body produces cholesterol (the good kind) and one of the jobs of the cholesterol is to protect the cells from toxins that enter the body through the air we breathe, what we eat, etc. If the cholesterol is too low, as in my b-i-l's case, the cells don't have much protection from toxins that enter the body. When I started doing the research on this, I was amazed at how many things we are exposed to that have mercury in them. Dental fillings, dentures, paint, batteries, flourscent lighting, diesel fuel and all sorts of other stuff I can't remember now. Dentists have said for years that mercury fillings are not a danger, but the research I have done indicates otherwise. My b-i-l and I go to the same dentist and he quit using mercury fillings years ago because he believes they are a danger. There is a big class action lawsuit going on in Canada against the Canadian Dental Association because of mercury fillings. I think one reason doctors don't test for heavy metal poisoning as part of a checkup is because if they find mercury poisoning in alot of folks with mercury fillings, somebody will start to connect the dots and alot of dentists and doctors would be sued. And I think I best close on that note before I get on a real rant! Just wanted to mention that since you said you have MS. We have had colder and wetter winters the last few years than I remember us having here when I was growing up. I think global warming is basically a scare scam, but I have been doing a bit of research on pole shifts and there are a few indications that the poles may be shifting a fraction. Of course, main line science denies it, but I long ago quit listening to the mainline folks because they aren't always the most honest people in the world. They have too much to lose - their grant money - if they say something that is not agreeable to the PTB. llana

I used to say TX had 2 seasons, drought and monsoon. I lived on the TX LA border and there was no in between. And the humitiy that close to the coast was unbearale. But I've watched the national weather since I moved up here and I swear the gulf coast is going to slide off into the ocean if it doesn't let up cookie

You ain't akiddin' about the humidity along the coast! I have lived lived along the coast from Texas to Florida at one time or another in my life and it's a killer! It's hard to decide what is worst - the humidity or the skeeters! I was going down into the Everglades early one morning and the moon was just beautiful. I decided I wanted to take a picture. Grabbed the camera, and reached back to get the tripold as I was opening the door. As soon as I opened the door, I was attacked by thousands of skeeters! They about ate me up before I could get the door closed! Decided I really didn't want a picture of the moon!

Hey Llana, I'm aware of the heavy metal poisoning. I was hospitalized once with an acute attack that left me unable to walk at all. While I was in the hospital I was tested for things that I never heard of before, including heavy metal. I didn't want to beleive that I had MS so I kept them looking for something else. But MS has always been the only diagnosis, no matter which doctor I saw. MS is one of the most misdiagnosed illnesses though. Many people who think they have it really don't. I run across people all the time that say they have MS just because they had a bout of optic neuritis, something that can have many causes and is usually a one time episode. Trust me, I live the disease and I know what it feels like. Every time I look at my wheelchair it reminds me of what my future is. Hey Tami, your nerves are just like copper electical wire. Copper electrical wire becomes less conductive as the temperature rises. For ordinary uses, that change is neglible. If your nerve is already damaged by a lesion but is still somewhat functioning, an increase in temperature can cause that nerve to stop functioning completely. That is why people with MS shouldn't swim in a pool that is heated. Sudden immersion raising your temperature can cause things, like your legs or arms, to stop working.
