Rare Red Ribbon. I only have a few small chunks. This cab came from the rough chunk pictured. I sliced it in half and was able to get 2 1/4" small slabs out of it. I am trying to use every bit of the material I can and this is my first cab of it. (First time owning Red Ribbon!)

That's a super cab. I love working with this material but good pieces are hard to come by! Great polish as usual. Bob

The camera in the cab is a pretty good indication of the shine. You'll have to build a light box/tent so the photos are as good as your work.
Is that material from the Glass Buttes, or is it a one of a kind of unknown location?
Darryl.

That is a beautiful obsidian. Certainly there are a lot if different types. And it does not seem unusual that you would find unique sub categories.
That is as fine as it gets. And your craftsmanship is stellar.

This material is from Glass Buttes and never was very abundant. I'm not sure if any material is currently being found there or not. Bob

I heard (I think from a seller, so take with a grain of salt) that it was only ever mined by one guy, and he kept his mouth shut about where he found it, and then he died or left the business or something.
