I spent the vast majority of my day cutting up the last of my WWR material. When I got to the last agate I cut into it and realized it was the best of the material I had collected. It was a nearly clear, very hard piece with the most beautiful red plumes...I only got a couple of small cuts before I realized there was no diamond left on my blade. I set my rocks on the ground, rinsed off the cuts in a colander, set the piece of agate right next to it. I cleaned up my saw and went into the house to pull the extension cord. When I came back outside, my piece of agate was gone! I searched everywhere for it, to no avail. All 3 dogs were outside and I am certain one of them picked it up. God knows what they did with it...it's nowhere to be found.
Damn Rockhounds. :'(S

Those darn rockhounds! Haven't you taught them to fetch the good stuff? You will probably stubb your toe on that hunka hunka rock in a week or two.

Oh no, you've got those dogs that would rather play with a rock than a ball? Hope you find it, or the thief brings it back.

Ok Susan, You owe me a heart attack. When I saw the name of the post and that it was you I thought it was Isis.

I too thought it was isis. Still, your best rock is now gone. It'll come up.

Good doggies. Glad to hear our plan is going well. Now remember, you don't get the other steaks until the agate arrives here. ;D -Don

I was thinking Isis too, but, the ultimate WWR agate is just as bad! You still have the slabs? Damn, I was thinking while reading your post that I would say "Hey Susan, since you can't cut anymore, send the rest of the rock to me!" Well, maybe it will show up.

The moxt likely culprit is Fergie. She picks up anything I'm working on...she especially likes to help with the weeding. I have never had one of them eat a rock, so hopefully it'll turn up...
And Isis has actually been feeling a lot better, almost back to her old self. She's on 7 different kinds of meds, given 3 times a day. We think she may have been bitten by a Black Widow spider and that's what caused the toxicity to her liver.
Now I have to learn to change my Workforce blade...but I have 3 six pound tumblers going, mostly Woodward Ranch agate.

You will probably find it with the lawn mower the next time you do the lawn.

Hey that's good news about Isis! Bad news about the agate though... do you think Fergie just carried it off somewhere? Sounds like you need more cutting rough... ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

Thanks for the heart attack- I to thought-Isis- Glad she is doing better!!! As for the Agate- Well it will turn up at some point (does Fregie like to bury the stuff- or just hide it?) Now on the the changing of the blade- It is pretty easy- Make sure saw is unplugged- take off saw guard. Remove water from water tray and remove tray-Remove tabletop Remove 2 screws (watch out for the washers- they are tiny little buggers) holding blade cover in place Lift saw slightly and remove blade cover (it kinda slides downward) OK now there is that big nut (3/4 inch I think) you need to remove that by grabbing the saw blade (I use a rag or glove so I can get a good grip on it- if that doesn't work clamp a pair of vice grips on the blade) and loosening that nut (this is the hardest part- keep at it- you can get that nut off!) Remove nut and Flange- then remove blade (sometimes you have to bend the little tab at the top of the housing upward slightly to get the blade off) remove inner flange and rubber gasket Clean all removed parts and area behind rubber gasket Reassemble in reverse order (make sure rubber gasket is snug against housing) Watch out as the inner and outer flanges are slightly different- the inner has no keyed center (the hole is round) the outer is keyed (the hole is a half circle) Also when replacing the blade make sure that the new blade is seated correctly on the flange (the balde seats on the flange- NOT the Arbor) Thats about it- If you run into problems let me know- I'll Take apart my saw and take some pictures as I do it.

I'd say I had about 20 hours of hardcore cutting on that original blade, almost all slabbing WWR agates that were entirely too big for the saw, rolling them to get slabs. I also used the right side of the blade as a grinder and the diamond went faster on that side. I bought a new blade when I got the saw 'cuz I knew I'd wear it out pretty quickly. It's a Husky 7" diamond tile blade - should fit, shouldn't it?

Forgive me for chiming in here. But the husky is the best substitue for the original bade. DO NOT use the Skill blade wal mart sells, it cuts a wide kerf and "sings" the dogs will know what I mean.
One thing though make sure the blade runs true after you put it on. The last one I had was not right, I don't know if it was out of round or if the arbor hole was too small, but it was big time messed up. After taking it off and putting it on eight times I threw it in the trash, But am buying another tomorrow.
