I happened to be doing emails when an email from a rocks list came in "for sale". I immediately replied to the sender - "sold". Then asked a couple questions. Questions answered, 20 minutes later I had a paypal invoice - paid. Saturday this came in the mail. The geology Of Southern California - 1954 It is a boxed set. I didn't photograph every booklet, there are quite a few Packet of maps I can't tell precisely what this envelope means. It is empty. Old topo Table of Contents (it's a complete set) I have me some lernin' to do. I feel very lucky to get this treasure trove of knowledge.

WOW!!!! You are lucky indeed! I have a whole bunch of old field notes, books and hand drawn maps for California, Nevada and Oregon I got as part of a rock collection I bought a few years ago. I should go through it and get it in some sort of order and swap them for rocks or something. I'll never get back out there collecting again

I am at work. Currently plotting an escape for a nice meal with wifey and kidlet. Then it will be me on the saw finishing a cube of amy sage. Then I will be breaking down the north cady's materials for gifts that I owe a few friends, then ........................................
Do you get the picture?

We have run across a few pieces of old info like that too, interesting to read and a lot of education. A complete set of "local" is a great find.

Very cool dude! Let alone the historical significance of this set, it could very well give you the key to many 'forgotten' sites worth checking into. Super score!!
