Well I've been trying to get some activity going on my new Facebook page by loading it with inexpensive bobbles but am getting no bites yet. I'm keeping it fun so I'm not disappointed, but I took a little time tonight to wrap a Montana Agate cab I cut a few weeks back. Here's the photo of the wrap with the original cab shown inset: I listed it for sale on my page, we'll see if anyone wants it!

Well, if you have a gorgeous stone a nice wrap, they will come. I have never tried to sell on fb.... but then I avoid going there like the plague. I deeply dislike it.

That is beautiful, hope it sells for you. I have been working on adding things to my facebook page and putting up more sales information on each item although it is slow going. I don't see anywhere else right now but I too am not getting any bites. I don't have a lot of likes of my page plus I don't have a wide friends base either.

It seems the trick to selling on FB is to be attached to a group page like "Wire Wrap Jewelry Artists" or International Artists". I seldom get on FB and my photos are horrible but I have sold that way a few times

John- I seen you had it listed as "silver plated" wire on FB. That may hurt your sales right there a bit. I have some listed that are "sterling filled" and I a give a detailed description of the difference between plated and filled right in my listing. I am in the process of going to solid sterling now. I did a quick etsy search and there's a whole lot of nice montana agates wrapped nicely in solid sterling at the same price you have yours listed. I admit I sell all my stuff too cheap but it keeps it from collecting dust in workshop and keeps money rolling in for grit, wire, blades ....etc I made a quick cheat sheet for pricing my wraps and its basically showing what 6 ft of 20 gauge square wire costs in each kind of material. I add that to the price I would sell the cab for then I add an hour of labor for the wrap. So $15-20 cab + 5ft of wire at "X" amount + one hour labor etc .... Your cabs are always great so I hate to see you lose any sales by using the plated wire. This is a picture showing sterling filled vs sterling plated that I use on my listings Chuck

Thanks all, and thank you Chuck for the comparative prices. I figure it is easier to lower prices than to try and raise them so I decided to start a little high and the combine items for special offers later (I'm doing that with a bunch of earrings for example) This is all sort of for fun and an experiment in using Facebook for marketing. Sales would be nice though so all experience and advice is helpful and appreciated. Thanks for the share Mario! wireholic I do belong to several sales groups but haven't tried posting much yet. I'm ok with a slow start, but am excited to see things start to move! (At whatever point that happens

Well I did it, I opened an Etsy store. Drummond Island Rocks (Drummond Island Rocks - Chuck) I took your advice and lowered the price a bit on the Montana. Like I say, it's all an experiment so we'll see if I get any traction using Etsy which makes payments simpler. Thanks again all for the encouragement.

Etsy will make payments easy and it also allows you to make coupon codes for freinds and family or any kind of promotion. Your listings look nice.

Yeah I feel like promoting here is like asking family and friends to buy Amway. I guess I should though, because if you get your friends to buy, and they get their friends to buy, eventually everyone will have enough inventory to stock the local goodwill for a couple decades.
