Finally got the old Frantom cleaned up, greased the bearings, cobbled up a water feed for the wheels. Slabbing a rock, the end of the slab broke off at a natural fracture. Went to toss it in the tumble bucket and decided it was time to try to grind a rock. The rock is nothing real special, just some local stuff we collected a few weeks ago. The shape was just evening up the edges. It really doesn't even belong in the same forum with some of the work I've seen on here. Crappy picture, too. Feel free to laugh like hell. It was kind of fun, though, and I'll probably try again. Regardless of the laughter. Russ

Definitely keep going, especially if you enjoy it. That isn't a bad first cab at all.

The "face" on the cab shows it's emotions from it's fracture good job and way to stick with it and overcome the problems that happen to all of us. Some of the neatest cabs out there are the product of an "Aww, Crap" moment

Great start! If you enjoyed doing it, then you should keep it up. I didn't hear anyone laughing.

Thanks for the kind comments. Yeah, I'll keep playing with it as time allows. I decided that cab is a two-footer-from two feet away it doesn't look too bad.

Good job for your first cab. Hang on to it. Wish I still had my first cab. I think I see a baby chick looking out of the middle of this one.

My laughter is only from how much you sound like I felt when I started cabbing a year ago. It's a good start - looks like you've got a nice dome on there and I ike that shape. If you like it keep at it - ask a lot of questions and get better.
