I haven't done much posting on here lately.Sad to say I haven't touched a rock in almost 2 months.devoting my time to adding on to my garden,my main hobby. This is my 40th garden season coming up.Thanks to Scott I now have plums and peaches added. This part added this week.I will develop it this year. End view, some of the over 250 bags of leaves I've hauled out of town this winter Part added a couple months ago. The biggest job will be keeping it all watered during a drouth. Thanks for looking, hope it will get some of you in a gardening mood! snuffy

It's hard to get in the gardening mood with a foot of snow on the ground. I just got in from blowing the driveway.
I do share your love of OPBL (Other People's Bagged Leaves) though. I like them so much that I made a video a few years ago.

Awesome garden Snuffy. Giant too. You must have some energy. Nice and neat helps a lot.
I forgot to ask you about the live oaks. Are you in the part of TX where they grow?
Was it 2 years ago you had that deadly drought? I drove thru from Zapata and it was depressing to see so many dead live oaks that were 100-300 years old. Like 50% in one county.

James, the area I live in is the Post Oak belt.Lost some of those, lots of water oaks, lots of pin oaks, and most piss elms.Havent seen a dead Live Oak yet that I can recall, most were planted around homes and streets, these weren't native to here I dont think..Tough trees!Got 4 in my yard. Many are grown here. I get my exercise out there.Dont till, all done with spading fork, grubbing hoe and shovel, carry all the dirt around in 5 gal.buckets.Trying to make it easier to handle when I'm older!Only going on 65 now! snuffy

When the fight goes down i'm next to your side. Nothing like dirt work to keep the soul content.
Looking forward to spring plant photos.
My neighbor is 75 and he is active like you. He is rough and ready anytime.

hooray for stone fruits!
Mulch them deep, burn the mulch (and dropped fruit tree leaves) every winter, apply that oil every summer after fruiting, lather rinse, repeat. Maybe they will live longer than 4 years.
Nice garden snuffy.

That's a lot of wire fence! Must be a rough neighbourhood. Need to keep the neighbours out?
Don't mind me. I'm just jealous looking at my garden under 3 feet of snow.
Darryl.
