New member to the site from coastal NC. New to tumbling/ lapidary. Have been going to rock and gem shows with my lady for years now. She makes custom jewelry. Somehow got this bug! Now when we go I am like a kid in a candy store with a bag of rocks! Have been watching the site from the sidelines for awhile and may need some help!

Thanks for the welcome. Live in Atlantic Beach,NC. Have been doing some cabbing with a used combo machine that I bought in Spruce Pines and loving it! working with a small Lorotone tumbler and a used vibrasonic.Have not been able to get any kind of a good shine at all from the final polish. Suspecting that I may have contaminated barrels. Have been reading on the board and am waiting for some alum oxide polish to come in. Not sure exactly what I had that came with the equipment when I bought them. Just labeled polish! I will be asking more as I progress. Noticed some Marine ties with some of the members. Semper Fi!
