A while back I played with etching. I used water with as much sea salt as could be dissolved in the water. A size "D" battery with 2 wires. One wire to the + positive and one wire to the - negative side of the battery. My biggest problem was the resist.I tried permanent marker and some kind of art pen from Michaeles but they both came off when the cooper was in the salt brine.I ended up using a DALO white "paint marker".It stuck good but it's hard to use as the white paint is pretty thick and hard to get detail with. I can't remember which went to who but I hooked 1 end of the battery to the piece being etched on 1 side of the plastic container with the sea salt brine, and the other end to a piece of copper on the opposite side of the plastic container. One pictures worth a thousand words,,, Here's basically what I used,,,, copperheartdesigns.blogspot.com/2010/01/electrolytic-copper-etching.htmlIt was a cheap way of trying it and it did work. connrock
