I've ever only been able to find a few specimens that are pure white or nearly pure white. Most of them have been small pebble sized specimens. This one fits in the palm of my hand and is nearly pure white with just a little bit of pale yellow on the inside. I'd like to do something with it, but cabbing it just doesn't seem like it would bring out the true beauty of the stone. What do you guys think would be the best way to make the best use of this little guy? I thought about maybe carving it into something, but there's not a whole lot to work with and, being new to carving, my skills leave something to be desired. lol.

You could always square up the 4 edges, leave the top rounded and make a cool paperweight or desk ornament/specimen out of it. Glue some felt on the bottom or mount on a nice piece of wood and Voilà!

Carve a scene or design into the slabbed end and leave the rest...

All great ideas, guys, thanks. juzwuz - You've probably already mentioned it somewhere, but I don't recall. Are you in WA? I'd love to learn how to make spheres!

I just sent you a PM. Sphere making is definitely interesting. I'm still learning how to make good sphere preforms. Justin
