yes, I saw regular escargot snails.
My guess is ALS cannot survive the cold nor the yearly 9 month drought (in a good year).

Today I was under the home under the watchful eyes of both homeowners. The area under their porch was soaking wet from recent rain and I said so. The lady said something like what about bugs... well there is never any bugs (except spiders at the vents) but I did see a plethora of decollate snails. When I mentioned she had decollate snails she freaked and asked me to either kill them or put them in a cup so she could. Then I explained their predatory nature and she calmed down!
Of course, I am under her coach giggling about this thread the whole time!

The mental image of Scott, giggling underneath someone's coach while thinking about snails and this thread just put a huge smile on my face!
