Fordite is better than dodgeite. Laid in there just perfect.

Thanks everyone. The fordite was a pleasure to work with and never even made it to our Etsy store. An hour after posting it to our facebook we had two offers on it. Wish rocks were as easy to sell as PAINT.

No comments on the heart wrap test? was looking for opinions on that method for some quick easy and inexpensive show wraps.

The first two wraps are stunning....You heart looks good..It looks like your cab is pretty thick..You might try to groove it from the bottom point up to the crown of the arches ...It would be a quick way and keep the heart open...John

Nice set, I especially like the fordite, the silver wire really makes it pop.

You psyched me out. I saw the marked out piece, scrolled down and then BAM! it was a different wrap. Love that Fordite!! Great job with it. I like that heart, too. That's a good idea.

Were you remembering my last fordite? this one and that one obviously are cut from the same piece of rough. I didnt notice how similar the patterns were till now. Its actually crazy that they are that similar. I wasn't trying! Here's the one I made cut last June and wrapped this January for comparison Chuck

Wow, that Fordite really pops especially with the silver. I'm not sure I like the heart because the back looks like it is chipped rather than grooved. I think John has a good idea about grooving it. It does look good for an inexpensive show wrap.

No comments on the heart wrap test? was looking for opinions on that method for some quick easy and inexpensive show wraps.Chuck I think your request for feedback on the heart is understandably getting lost in the attention that the first two stones and wraps command those are both very beautiful Chuck you should be very proud. Your wraps are organized and elegant. I'm trying to figure out how the fordite stays in place - doesn't look like there is much wire covering the bottom 2/3 of the stone. The wires across the front of the heart doesn't grab me - I'm trying to figure out how to wrap a heart too and with the stone I've chosen I wouldn't want wires drawing attention away from the piece. I'm strongly leaning towards one of my boring prong-wraps just so most of the stone remains visible. Also not to be overlooked is your dramatic improvement in photography lately!

Thank you so much for the kind words. I can see your point with the wires crossing the front if the stone had any pattern in it. I think it worked ok on this one just because it was pretty boring clear agate. I may just ditch the idea for now. I was really just looking for a simple 5-10 minute wrap. A lot of people at shows that cant fork out $50 for a wrap might like something simple to wear in the $15-20 range and I thought a simple quick wrap is still better then a glue on bail pendant. Chuck

I think a prong wrap for hearts is a great idea. It would still be fairly inexpensive, no?
