Howdy folks, Was going through my closet looking for a sweater as we're having another of the damn global warming arctic blasts here in Texas. I happened across a bunch of bola ties I had hung inside a shirt for some dang reason or another. Getting old I guess. Anyway, I checked and I didn't have photos of them in photobucket for some reason so I took pics and added them. Figured I go ahead and post them here too. Please forgive me if I've posted these before and have forgotten about it. I have so dang many rocks, I can't keep straight what I've posted pics of unless they are in photobucket.....Mel 38 X 52 Hunters Valley small orb poppy jasper. This vein is now under a home. Flora Claim Poppy on left and a fractured Sierra Primrose from our ranch on the right. The Sierra Primrose tends too be fractured if it was exposed on the surface for long due to freezing. 30 X 40 and 38mm round.

*L* Daniel, Yeah yeah *L* If its hot, it's global warning. If it's cold, it's global warming. If it's dry it's global warming. If hurricanes flood the country, it's global warming. Hell, I like it hot. Bring the global warming on. I'd be hapy being in shrts all year long. *L* I ain't a global warming theory advocate. When I was in college taking climate classes, all the big shots were predicting global cooling in 40-50 years, which, wait a minute, happens to be right about now *L*. The old timers round these parts says this has been going on every few years since they were driving cattle horseback up the cattle trail that runs through the ranch. Old Texas saying " If'n you don't like the weather just wait fifteen minutes, it'll change."....Mel

The first one with the small orbs is my favorite by far, but all of them are beautiful.

Thanks guys. That first variety is my favorite too. That particular vein was much less fractured than some other poppy types but it was fairly thin where this particular cut came from. I actually had to cut it parallel to the bottom and top of the vein to get a big enough slab for a cab this size. The wide part of the vein got to about a foot thick but was formed of bands of several different types of poppy. I actually have a big boulder from this vein in my yard..Mel

I agree the first one is fantastic! So the vein is under a home now eh? Do you gotta map? Think they'd notice a little tunnel under their place?

Beef: Their home sits right on a hilltop where they can see ya coming for miles. I also caught poison oak digging that vein when I stupidly dug into the the roots of a giant thicket. Believe me, even with the poison oak, I got all that could be got before they planted that darn house on top of it. I even raided the unfenced building site when they first bulldozed the hilltop and cut the pad though what they dozed out there was a bit different from the vein. This is what the bulldozer kicked out: This is how the stuff was banded in the poison oak vein:

It's not global warming or anything... have you been following the HUGE sunspots and massive activity they're throwing at our blue marble!

dang, all of that is totally bad@ss! The genius of changing the name to "climate change" is the fact the climate changes. Now no matter what happens its man made global climate change. Wake up in the morning it's cold? Climate Change Wake up and it's hot? Climate change Have dinner will it's cold after it was cold when you woke up? Climate change. Wake up at midnight and it's raining, when it was hot and sunny yesterday? Climate change again. The climate changes hourly at every single point on the face of this earth. Anybody that buys this is man made and climate change is a real crisis is either a buffoon, or sees some way to profit from the hysteria. So, which is it? Totally bad@ss mel. Your family is lucky! I'll bet your bride sports similar broach.....

*L* I wish Scott. My darlin wife loves critters, plants and such but sees rocks only as ornamental specimens she can seize for her gardens. She don't even wear her diamond rings. Only piece of jewelry I've ever got her to wear is a Texas blue topaz cut in the traditional Lone Star cut.. Agates, jaspers etc. No love there at all *S*.....Mel

All those samples are great, but that first one with the micro poppies is spectacular.
