Clyde and I did a road trip to Hillsboro to look over a museum last Saturday...Enoy the photos..
The trip was great...
This museum was a private collection from an old rockhound and do it your selfier of life! He donated his home for the display of his collections..
AND WOW!!!

Here is a machine the guy made himself so he could cut his gems.....

Here are a few of the stones he cut...

This ruby display is about three feet tall by two feet wide...

Half the basement area is full of petrified wood.....Huge to micro sizes...(From all over the world)..

His gold collection he mined and panned through out the world....

Lots of minerals on display also...

So many colors....

If it was any rock or mineral on earth,this guy found it..

Lots of fossils too.

Of course the "black light" room (before)

Look at this huge thunderegg....

Here is a thunderegg that's about three feet by three feet.....It will probably never be cut..

rocknrob: There was a shop in Portland, don't know if it's still there called Kenny and Zukes who made the absolute best pastrami sandwiches I have ever had. The problem is every restaurant thinks their sandwich is worth $20 now and seldom makes the grade. Nov 12, 2024 9:53:31 GMT -5
