You might find a Fairburn or 2 in extreme N.E. Wyoming. Most are found in S.E. South Dakota, But occasionally are found in N.W. Nebraska and S.E. Montana as well. Erosion from spring melt off has carried them quite a distance.

orrum, there are plenty of rocks in Wyoming, will you be that far north? I've had better results toward the west side of the state. My guess is that right now everything is under snow over there (it is here) but in a month that should be a different story. Let me know when/where you will be and I'd love to come say hi and we can poke around a bit.

Glad you are back. Sounds like you are in for a lot of great hounding and an adventure. I'm in AZ right now but will be leaving the end of March to go back to Montana. If I don't see ya down here you can always come up to Montana. And, yes, there are cactus thorns here in AZ that need pliers to remove. It's easier to use pliers than to pull them out by hand and get one stuck in your hand.

Hey Mark I went hounding srveral days and got you another MFR box in the mail! Its got some green banded ryolite from Quinn Pass. Its grern the desert varnish makes it look brown. There is a couple pieces of yellow n red jasper that came from a hilltop in the middle of tge desert. Then you need to thank Diane the Drocknut for some pink dumorterite that she found when we went to the blue claim! Its more rare. I also put some real light green with tinting to lite blue dumorterite, in tgat I found whole sitting on a rock watching Diane hound! LOL That Diane is a ok lady Mark. We had a blast!
