That's great for a first cab, nice shape and a smooth dome.

Thank you everybody. I think that I am off to a good start. Now I just need to get some equipment, so I can start cranking more out. I have been using the clubs equipment, but that is an hour drive one way. I have some more pictures to put up. I just need to resize them.
Thanks again for the encouragement! Jon

Great job and a really fine dome! My first cab was a petoskey stone..... I ended up with a gray smear on the dop stick, the cab was ground completely up! LOL

As everyone else has already said, that is a great first cab! My first cabs were similar experiences to Orrum's. I turned some moderately pricey material into completly priceless sludge..seriously, no-one will by my sludge at any price. Anyone? Bueller? Beuller? "sigh"

I really enjoy this new found hobby. I have acquired some slabs, but finding the time on Wednesday nights to travel 1 hour to the clubs workshop is difficult. I have submitted my second cab for the cab contest over on the contest board. If anyone is interested you should check it out.
Thanks again, Jon
