I did 3 more wraps this weekend. I went to a rock show in Mesa, AZ and talked with a lady who was wrapping there. She answered my questions and gave me some pointers. Although they aren't perfect I do notice improvement by doing what she suggested. My bends are much smoother. The first cab I bought in Quartzsite last month...I'm not sure what it is. The middle one is Biggs Blue Jasper, the third is Pietersite, both bought at a rock shop in Lakeside, AZ. Andrea Front:  Back  |

Nice wraps! Your "unknown" is chiastolite, a variety of the mineral andalusite, which features crosses in a variety of configurations. Andalusite with the same basic chemical makeup occurs in facetable crystals like this stone I photographed the other day. It's known for showing two colors at the same time, a property called dichroism. It's an interesting mineral.  |

The Biggs is my favorite but all of them look great. Keep up the wrapping. Glad that wrapper was willing to give you some pointers, that always helps.

Great wraps! I love the biggs, it looks really great with the slanted wires and the curls are very nice.
