I hadn't thought about lower water levels making more areas accessible. Hmmm... Problem is, just about all the lakes around here are reservoirs for drinking water, and they would have a conniption fit if someone was to go prospecting or panning in it.
Bill, ya got that right, rain's on the way! Expecting just a taste of rain in a couple days, but should be measurable in the inches by the weekend. A real gully washer!
We had been contemplating going out to one of the clubs claims close by and doing some dry washing this weekend, but that won't be happening.

I just read in the paper someone found $10 million in gold coins not even an hour south of here. Forget the lakebeds, just keep an eye out when you take your dog for a walk! Steve

I just read in the paper someone found $10 million in gold coins not even an hour south of here. Forget the lakebeds, just keep an eye out when you take your dog for a walk! Steve San Fran mint, $5-20 face value $28K in face value many in mint un-circulated condition. For you coin collectors I saw PCGS slabs rated at MS-66. That is SUPER high grade for any coin let alone coins of this era. It's called the saddle ridge hoardI'll bet with all the media it will be double that estimate of $10 Million. More at wiki and all over the web. Amazing story of dumb luck. edited to add: Find the tree with the hanging can near the odd rock, take ten paces towards polaris and dig. No map required.
