First off, I've just received my new lightbox and am having a heck of a time with lighting. Which is weird since I thought it would solve those problems. So just ignore the horrid pink tone I can't get rid of (Paint.net, you failed me!!). I've made pendants from tumbled beach rocks, and plain ones, but have always wanted to do this. And now, with a flat lap at my disposal, I can! Just a single facet on one side of a natural stone. They look a ton better in person... hard to get the reflection. In the past I've sold all of my pendants with an inexpensive memory wire necklace, but for these I'm going to get some simple sterling chains. Now if I can just decide on a style of chain!!! Argh. Chain 1st, better pictures 2nd.

Yup, just one spot polished, the rest left au natural.

Those are neat. How do you attach the bails? The pink cast is probably from your lighting source. Make sure that you have only one source of light, not mixed fl, incadescent, sun. Hopefully some of the photo experts will help out.

My pictures with the box did get a tad better when I opened the blind, but I'm going to need more light. "AZIZ! MORE LIGHT!" <-- bonus points if you know what movie that's from (it's a fave).

To fix the color cast in your photos you need to adjust white balance, paint.net should be able to do it, probably just a matter of finding a button or slider to do the adjustment. The pink color could be coming from the light globe you are using. A daylight globe is better than a warm white.

What kind of light source you are using? (Type, power) Camera type? of "pink" white balance problem as possible. But the data source to light please ... "The Fifth Element" ... very cool! My favorite movie

My favorite movie Camera = Nikon D5000 w/Speedlight Flash Light Source = Ebay Light Box Kit of DOOM (they're those rainbow-ie halogen style mini bulbs), also the light in the room. I did have a bit better tone when I opened the window shade. I've been using a cardboard/paper box for quite awhile but have always taken my shots in a room that had more natural light. Was just hoping to be able to set this new box up in the guest room (on the other side of the house from my normal spot) because it's out of the way and I can keep it set up.
