Ok after seeing some of the nice textures Steelandstone does I am getting a hand piece. But; what one? Steel uses an H15 I believe, this comes with one bezel setting tip I think. There are then a couple of tip kits that are on Rio's site. Would someone kindly recommend a good handpiece and kit to get that I won't need to upgrade in the next two months:) I am sure the H15 is great but what attachments should I buy.
Thanking you all in advance

I have the SR motor one, I suspect one just has to be careful not to floor the control? Its the 1/6th HP one. Thanks for answering.
waiting on your advice.

Tom, I actually have a H15 and a H15D which is the duplex spring version, either one will work for you. They do not recommend any speed over 5000 rpm so you need to be careful about over reving it. As for anvils if your main purpose is just for texture I use the ball nose and the fine point the most. Anvil SetThis is one of the sets I have which has both the fine point and the ball nose, it also has a bezel rocker anvil which is really nice to use on small stone bezels.

I actually made a decision LOL, I put the D model in the cart, it looks slimmer and easier to hold? Not going to enter the order till I get your perspective though. Hey the way I see it; it costs more money (10 bucks) so its got to be better, right:) I fully understand that keeping the rev's down is important to these tools lasting. Should not be a problem as I rarely, rarely max my tool speed out on anything.
And just thinking on this if people do have a bit of trouble controlling the speed of their foredom you could easily put a block in the foot piece to limit your speed.
Ok I know I am rambling, still on first cup of coffee.
AND, I think today is the day to make my first tube setting:) Woot!

Tom, I use the duplex almost exclusively for setting, whether it be bezels or prongs, I hardly ever use it for texturing so if your main purpose is going to be texture I would recommend the H15. Also with the H 15 you have no duplex spring to worry about.

Thank you sir, my order will be changed. If I do set a bezel then the 15 will still work. I guess the duplex springs are why the tool is smaller and more sleek. i will live with the other one just find. Thanks so much

Thanks so much Tom, The duplex at least the one I have no smaller just the fact it has the flex section makes it more comfortable while setting stones and intricate work. The head sections on both of mine are the same shape and size.

Ok thanks, I think I may go for the duplex, I will be able to control the speed and the flex part does look better.
