A Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-H200 has out done an expensive DLSR w/true macro EDIT- came darn close. Or did better. Very close. Finally got some blue sky to make the test. Can better them by doing some manual shutter adjustments yet. Check em out Subject tumble Same agate-different locations on subject stone Now blowing them up even more Settings ISO 80(lowest ISO) shutter 1/250 f stop f5.4 pixel count 1406 X 1118 fl at 35mm Set camera to finest setting 20M, 26M, 30M or whatever you have. At 1/250 there was not even a need for a tripod. I am surprised. But you need full sun. Oh-most important, zoom in on the rock as much as possible and still be able to maintain focus. The camera should be 5-10 inches from the rock. So you are trying to fill the screen w/the rock. See the first(starting photo).

Sweet close ups of a gorgeous stone James! It's funny Brian, i used that one because it has white dots to reference magnification. If you took macros of those babies you find they would be throwing rocks at mine.

Where on the map is this? I'm guessing Montana..... and you're gonna need a bigger saw.
