This little piece is from a small slab I bought at the Desert Gardens show in Quartzsite. It was destined to be a larger oval but it broke in dramatic and heartbreaking fashion just as it neared completion on the 50K wheel. So I was experimenting with trying something new with some scraps of sterling I had left, rockjunquie style prongs. The bottom prongs ended up too long so I cut them and made a loop which I promptly fell in love with LOL because it fits the flowers scene in the stone. It's rough but tight and I will definitely do this again as soon as I get more wire haha. The wife immediately took possession of it which is always a good sign

Thats one fine looking ocean jasper wrap. The back lite shows the stone very nice. And if the wife likes it you know is nice.

Look at you Tommy- prongs now. You go, boy! They look great and I love the way you did the bottom ones. Great piece all around.

Yeah I got asked to custom wrap a full sized Montana agate oval and the person really likes the prongs look. The other prong style I do isn't suitable for a large oval I think - the prong arms are too far from the center point so I'm hoping I can do it this way.
