I wanted to share my excitement that I have made my first sales on Etsy! I opened my shop two weeks ago and sold my first wrap, a dinosaur bone pendant, Wednesday. Last night another one, Sodalite this time, sold!
I have sold a few things previously; but they were to friends, or friends of friends. This time, complete strangers actually purchased something!
I know a lot of you have been selling for a long time - do you remember how it felt when you sold your first peice?

Congratulations Roger! I know what you must be feeling - I recently started a facebook page for friends and family etc. and my wife's best friend came over and bought four pieces - still deep down I wonder if she is just being nice lol. I haven't had the stones (pun intended) to open my work up for public scrutiny like you have.

WOO HOO Congrats. Its great to get some money flowing in the right direction isn't it? Your right it does feel different when a complete stranger finds your item online and likes it enough to fork out their hard earned money for it. So how often are you clicking your ETSY to check your stats? Its kind of addicting. I have the ETSY app so when ever there is sale made it makes a real nice CHA-CHING sound. Love that sound. Chuck

Congratulations on your first two sales, I'm sure there will be more to come. Once people get the piece in their hand and get a good look you will start getting repeat customers as well. I don't wrap rocks but have been selling my hand tied fishing lures on ebay since 2004. My first sales back then I was really excited. My 3rd and fourth customer's then still buy from me all the time. I'd like to see the wraps you sold.

AWESOME! My first real sale was to a relative that I had never met before. Strange but true. We met through the internet and during our first visit she fell in love with my work and bought one. But, after I started selling for real, it was a blue Peruvian opal piece. I remember being terrified that they wouldn't like it! LOL! I also wasn't prepared for such a quick sale and had to dash around and find some nice packaging. That was eBay back in 1999, I think. I still get a thrill and a little nervous every time I sell something. I have a lot of really wonderful clients around the world. And, you will, too. Put your etsy link in your signature. I'll fav you and fav an item or two. Promotion is a good thing.

Congratulations on your 1st sale. I to broke the ice a couple of weeks ago on Ebay after having some cabs listed for about a week. I sold a crazy lace, gem silica and a Pietersite. Best of all they posted Positive feedback and are very happy. Stu

My first sale was to a lady in Italy. The package was lost somewhere after it arrived in Italy and I had to replace the cabs. It cost too much for insurance so I didn't have it insured. I now charge $24.50 to ship to Italy 1st class postage. It get's there but only in a shipping envelope, no box.
What is your site address so I can favor it.

Congratulations on the sales. Yes it's great when someone likes your work enough to shell out hard earned cash for it. My first sale was to a bead store owner. I've had a few but not many since then (probably about 3 years ago) but I'm hoping to get more in the near future. Best of luck to you on your shop.

Congratulations!! I love Etsy, and I'm glad you put your sig with your Etsy site. I just saw a cab I had to wrap!
Even after 7 years on Etsy, I get a thrill everytime I sell a piece. I fav'd your shop, and a couple of your cabs too. Best of luck with your Etsy!
