Hi there everyone, back to the boards with Fire Agate and Florida Coral from James.
Had some chaotic time this past few weeks, with school taking front and center-stage, literally!
Exams are coming up before Easter, so all the tests had to be submitted by last week and our yearly performance on a big stage was due by Friday (3 weeks earlier than originally planed)and as usual changes for such a performance are always on last minute "need to know" and I'm pretty much the last to find out.
Anyhow: I think the boys had a good time as they choose the subject themselves. Taking an old story and turning it into a basic message for the year: Judge yourself before judging others, and everyone can change, given the right opportunities.
Here are our main characters (all boys, aged 10 - 12)
That one was a bit scary though: When someone is that comfortable playing to the cameras, its hard not to wonder if there this not a full-time media-personality in the making. Just look at the mirror behind him, he certainly had everyone wrapped around his finger and captivated to the fullest extend. In 6 years of being allowed to organize dramas, I never had someone (children or adult) so comfortable to play a cross-gender role , and is as straight as they come out of costume.
So with all that going on, sitting down with the Foredome, was out of question. My solution? Continue work on Fire Agate on the go. Here are the two Carving-blanks that came out of the past two weeks.
And then seemingly as a reward for all the trouble, I got nearly knocked off my chair. Just in time, I got a fantastic parcel from James (jamesp)with a fantabolous array of colors from his treasure-chest.
Here is the lot
James, are the two in my hand cooked? Or are they not only rough but also just how you found them?
Here are some closer looks at smaller pieces that will be suitable for cabbing as well as carving
Bigger pieces, ideal for carving
And the stars of the show: My favorites in he lot for the purity of white
And last but not least the superstar of this parcel. Dry/wet back/front
Dear James, I hope I can make it up to you somewhere in the near future. Got your company-address now, and there is no hiding.
In the meantime, thank you so much for your kindness to all of us. Best regards, Kurt
