I'm not sure what your question is, but I'd be glad to help. I'm a bit of a perfectionist, but in my opinion, those should go back in for more time in the first stage. I like to get my rocks completely smooth and free of pits before moving to the second stage. Depending on what I'm starting with, that can take from about two weeks to several months. The two week rocks are rocks that are almost perfectly rounded beach rocks. Hard, broken agates or jaspers take months. Each week when I clean out my tumblers, I wash the rocks and inspect each one. I remove only the perfect ones, and replace them with fresh rocks. I only start the second stage when I have enough saved up from the first stage.

how big are your rocks? a few may be a bit large for a 3 lber. I agree, pea gravel and more grit and time running. pm me with your addy and I will send you some 60-90 grit.

Start with the basics: 1. Use lots of small stuff (3/8" or smaller). 2. Fill barrel to roughly 3/4 full. 3. Add grit. 4. Add water to up to bottom of top layer of rocks. 5. Wash, reload, add grit and filler every 7-10 days. 6. Be patient.

thanks guys for all the help, marinedad and cat that's very generous...I need to measure it but I think I have just enough for this to go one more time, but I truly appreciate it and ill let you know if I don't have enough......times are tough but if I don't have enough I would very much appreciate that! eventually id like to sell some of my previous tumble and be able to buy a separate barrel for polish only, grit, and rocks to keep this thing going....but I think im ok for now.....THANKS AGAIN! =)

Hey Tony, thanks man......I went and got some pea gravel today.....that's super nice of you but this project is gonna take me a while and I just don't want you spending money on shipping and stuff, if I could make a trade id feel better about it and not feel like im begging or getting anything for free

selling tumble is very hit-n-miss unless you get great shape and finish, or work a few peices into something wearable.
Some of that rock is going to need more than "one more time" you want to buy 5lb or 10lb supply of course.
