well I hope this is right just got back from the store....thanks for the advice I really hope this second round of coarse goes better with my stones I was REALLY DISAPPOINTED one of the emeralds has a big crack I think I hope these get a better tumble now and will get rid of it.......Do I have to worry about extra gas build up or the sand in these? thanks............I think I have enough grit for one more round I rechecked but im not sure....the bag says coarse grit but not specific.....its says 6tbls for a 3lb barrel that sounds wrong from what you guys use.....advice on what yall would do please

ps I wish I didn't have to buy a 40 lb bag but its all I could get......way too much and nowhere to store them lol

oh yeah another question what is in the pea gravel? am I gonna end up with just trash or is there any quartz or nice stones that should go in with the other 3 cycles....thanks again

That will be fine. Pea gravel is just a designation as to size. It will likely be whatever is relatively cheap to obtain and local to ship. There's no telling what will be in it, but since quartz is really common, that's likely what is in it.

The pea rock will probably be junk, however, you can use it all of the way through if necessary to keep the barrel at the correct volume. Just because the pea rock is not great does not mean it will not be a blessing. I use a locally available gravel which is ugly and never would be considered for tumbling, but it works great for fill and as sacrificials. You need them.

usually cracks do not grind out unless they are just a surface scratch. I am not sure that emerald/matrix rough will ever have a perfect surface. maybe some of the aqua. much better to learn with agate and jasper. also you will likely need much more course grit. it is not uncommon to have to run many course cycles.
