I took 2 photos of five rocks each, do I need to take one photo of all ten? I am having trouble getting a good enough photo of all ten, either the dark ones are too dark and you can't see the detail or I get a flash that reflects right back at me, leaving a glare.

I have a feeling that this is going to be a stellar event and if it progresses to a best of the best singles pick too, ..... awesome is the word that comes to my mind!!! I hope this continues, I wouldn't mind getting in on it next time myself!!!

Tammy,
I am not sure, but I think that there was a consensus of taking one picture of all ten for it to be fair. That would also cut down on the number of pictures being uploaded. I think that would be the easiest way for everyone to be on an even playing field.

So yeah ..... took a whole bunch of pics. Think it was much more difficult to get a good pic than it was to get a good rock out of the tumbler. One shot might have good color and detail but wouldn't show shine. One shot might show the shine but details got lost in the glare. One shot might be a good mix of both but a detail I wanted included was obscured. Getting one good pic, I think, will be the equalizer. Never really did get a shot I felt had the best of both worlds but settled on something.

Took 64 pics of my ten. I couldn't get a good picture showing all ten. Either need a better camera or take a photography class or both. Chose picture #55. I know what mine look like, can't wait to see everyone's. This was a lot of fun, I learned a lot in a short time because of this contest.

I think taking a picture of all 10 was really hard too. I took so many pictures and finally decided to pick one and pray. This contest has been a lot of fun. Good luck to everyone.

Hey John I got them ,but I need just one pic of the ten...Tammy your pic still did not come through...Rockroller ..Where are you at bud??...(hopefully taking a pic) LOL ...Riverrock still have not got your pic....Thats the status so far...I hope to have All the pics today...I am working midnight to 9am this week so if I get them all I will start the poll this evening when I wake up...John

for you folks having pic issues...same here....i had to sacrifice some shine for a half ass decent pic. great shine and shape....piss poor pic. maybe we all need to get together and have a pic taking class...then drink beer..or wine  . i had to break down the camper this weekend....cause we have to move every 30 days...headed home to check tumbler....and take pics....but. when i got home...there was beer left in the cooler....i started drinking....then i cleaned a few fish...and i drank more beer....took a few more pics...and so on...then me was drunk again...i like beer. . ended up with some chitty pics of good rocks. i dont remember which pic i sent in...me was drunk . well monday came and i have to be all grown up again....look forward to seeing all of the rocks...home for the next month....kev. |

Thank goodness, I wasn't sure what to do if it failed again. I had a good time despite dropping the barrel from about 8 feet, breaking most of them, I was devastated. Well now for the judging.
