It is a forest of jealousy. First off, I'm putting that quote on a t-shirt or something. Secondly, this is crazy to see since I'm just planning on going and getting my squash starts at the store tomorrow! Sheesh.

Got our last frost [hopefully] last week and some good weather this week. We put in all the tender stuff; you give us something to look forward to, thanks.

Jealousy vs. Envy Envy = I want you to have that garden and I want one just like it. Jealousy = I want that garden and for you to have a feather up your butt. Then we'd both be tickled. Seriously, snuffy your garden looks fabulous. For me it's envy. My report for the season? No plums. No peaches. Olives look promising. Grapes are a maybe. Next winter one each non producing plum and peach trees are getting axed and replace with a fig and Hass Avocado. Limited space means all trees must produce.

I would steal those cardinals from the nest and hand raise them. There is absolutely NOTHING that would stop me. It's a dream pet of mine. Missed a chance to buy some 20 years ago and I still kick myself.
Besides if you steal the first babies, the pair will likely re-nest...
Snuffy, I am on my way! haha!

Garden looks productive Snuffy. We have had great rains this year. Nice soakers wetting everything about once a week. The centipede grass has really spread due to the rain. Way reducing mowing horse power. Curious if you guys have centipede/St. Augustine grass. Mow that stuff low and it loves it, killing weeds at the same time.
We are covered up w/Cardinals. Never knew they could make pets Scott.

We are covered up w/Cardinals. Never knew they could make pets Scott. In cali I find st auguistine grass kills weeds better when mowed 4-5" thick. Cut it low and we get weeds like mad. Having lots of cardinals is not the same as having a nest for the easy picking.
