Got in a little cabbing Barite- color is nicer in person. This is from England. Cuts like mud. Turkish dendritic opal cab from a chip- cute little stone. Super gemmy and shiny deschutes. This is going in a silversmith piece. The whole front has a reflection. The pattern is very crisp. Freeform oval from a sliver of rock. This is called Green Forest agate, I think. Rare. Hells Canyon A red OJ. The colors are so much nicer in person. Huge Picasso. I think I will recab to get rid of that white on the bottom- looks cracked, but it isn't. Very solid. This took a great polish. Big rare pulsite. One man collects this and brings it to market from Oregon- it's named after him, Jim Puls. This was a chip that I couldn't bring myself to toss A cool tube agate. Looks really cool in person. Thanks for looking! When the weather finally decides what its gonna do, I have a bunch of slabs to get into.

Nice work! That Pulsite seems somewhat similar to Apache Gold with what looks like pyrite more evenly distributed. I like 'em all, especially the OJ, Hell's Canyon, Pulsite and Deschutes.

Thanks all mohs - Yes, it was muddy, but not brown- more like orange. It was a lot like some serpentine I've cut. Kinda slippery.

It was hadr to choose just one, but I'll go with the Deschutes, that was the perfect shape for that cab.

Sorry, there Ed- I almost missed your question. The apache is actually pulsite and yes, it was a real nasty mess to cab. Black as spades.

pulsite must be the specific name for that type of material I purchased rock that was called Apache Gold it resembles pulsite is it kind of soft ? was the slurry brown?
the black in my yin yang must be pulsite without the pyrite
g'day Ed

The tube is ....totally tubular! Love the Hells Canyon material, hope to find some to play with some day. Looking forward to seeing that second one in a wrap. Cheers
