I found this a couple of monthe ago and just ran it thru the saw in the last couple of days. No slab pics as yet but they look just like the whole chunk here. But, there were fractures that let the slabs multiply themselves Thats ok though as they are workable This is some of Adot'S roadfill. Front and back views Thanks for looking

I always liked the colours of Arizona wood in general, but that is a particularly nice piece with the intense yellows.
You said it was from a road fill! Seams to me the A-DOT should construct your roads out of Leaverite, and leave the beautiful Arizona wood for the collectors. I wonder if the original road builders had a clue what they were they were constructing with.
Do you think the A-DOT would trade me a few pounds of that Arizona wood for some of our local construction grade rock? We can offer up select Greywacke. It's grey. LOL!

Gary,I just found a huge piece of that Arizona wood too,I was cutting on it yesterday,wild colors,just as yours is...(Can't remember where I got it either) LOL
