My wife works is an EA in a grade 5/6 class. I already made the kids simple hammered copper rings and they liked them. My next project has been cutting roundies in half. Someone at my club sold me an entire milk crate (100 lbs+) of the eggs for $100. Anyway my plan is to get them cut, only about 25 for the class, then tape them together and put them in a baggie.
My wife will get them to pick out an egg, then they can take the tape off to unwrap the egg, so they will crack their own eggs open:) Some will get a hollow some with get a thunder egg.
Hope they enjoy and maybe make a new rock hound!

Oh Tom, no need to pre-cut them. I think your wife would really enjoy turning those 5/6th graders loose with sledge hammers and chisels. And maybe even a rocksaw. What could go wrong?

I never thought of that Mark, I can't think of anything that could go wrong:) Kids should learn at an early age how to use tools! Back when men were men and a dime was worth ten cents we did learn early. Now it would only lead to a job loss or law suit:(

Yes ...all true and cracking thundereggs with a hammer and chisel is a tad daunting for 5/6 graders...most of the people on this forum excepted
