I just finished talking to each of the second grade classes at the school where I volunteer. The talk was in Spanish with English interpolations--the school is bilingual on alternating school days. The kids were very excited and handled all the fossils lent by our local rock club. One small boy, who got a book on fossils for his birthday, wanted to see a giant shark tooth. Megalodon rides again.
Since we talked about the finding and preserving of fossils, I want something still partly in the matrix. It doesn't even have to be a perfect, unblemished specimen since we want to kill several birds with one stone (pardon the rocky analogy.)
Any leads or ideas? I'm not really looking for huge but substantial would be nice.
