Ok, I use that term loosely but the guys house I was working at today had fresh gravel on a project he was working on, he let me sift through what was spread so far and he let me keep these....well these are my favs, I didn't photo all of them im BEAT, I do think I found some neat ones though let me know what yall think they are..Chris

Thanks fossilman! Im glad I looked,the top pics are almost fist sized......they were covered in dust, I was surprised when I got them home and rinsed them off.....pretty colors

Thanks gingerkid and fossilman , would you guys help me try to id these ones...I found a better picture I took than the ones I posted in my original post...they are really too big for my 3 lb barrel but I would still like to know what they are, he said I could come look around anytime, thought I might find some suitable for my barrel size and would like to know what im looking for and at

Three look like agate,but all are from the chalcedony family-that striped one is very cool......I would say all agate...

heres one I overlooked, a little more suitable size for my tumbler, dry it doesn't look very promising, very dull and just a faint shimmer of a quartz stripe, but a little better wet.....most of everyone elses agates I see on here are better more interesting colors/patterns, I actally haven't tumbled this material before....I wonder what it would reveal?

ROFL, @tumbleon, I think you're right that the mysterious squarish pieces are probably tile. The one you just posted is cool with the stripes in it! Are any of your lunch break finds carnelian agate?

I don't know gingerkid, im too new to really id a rock myself with complete confidence =P, that's why im the grasshopper and your my sensi's lol....this material is kinda plain and dull looking....I know its not rare obviously finding it in a gravel pile......I wonder if I should even try tumbling it?
