i've been checking all the usual second hand sites (ebay, cl) for a saw. it'll be my first real lapidary saw. last night on ebay i found a newly listed older 10" Crown (no motor) with vise in good shape except one of the 4 bottom mounts had broke. it had a buy it now price of $250 which i thought was a deal so i sent the seller a message asking if there were any other cracks and i was ready to go ahead and buy it this morning if he replied that there werent.
woke up.. and it was gone dammit.
i want to say lesson learned and jump on it right away next time but i usually like to ask a few questions first when buying any kind of old equipment. anyways, i wish i jumped on that one.

vugs, if there are gem and mineral clubs in your area, they frequently have sales. They also have members who would like to sell some of their equipment. Our club does that.
