Slabbed some obsidian and thundereggs today.....The obsidian will be for points and the T/E will be for cabs... I cut the obsidian every direction I could to get the different colors of of it... This was my favorite cut,it really "POPPED"!! Doesn't look flat does it,but its smooth as glass (no pun intended)... I cut one really thin to see what it would look like-man it was awesome!!! The T/E slabs.....

Wow. In my limited rock hounding career to date I've never seen obsidian like that. Does it have a name and where is it from? It's really cool. I like that last egg slab. It looks like comet streaking through the skies.

That first piece would make some really nice cabs. Sure you want to turn it into a harpoon point? Curious to hear where you found that.
Darryl.

I can get more....I have one more to slice up,maybe I could do a few cabs..LOL - This is mahogany obsidian(correct me if I'm wrong),its a dime a dozen around here,so to speak... I have some black obsidian, but it's in Ohio now, getting knapped for me... I'll bet ya' Tony could line you out with a box, probably Roy too.....Thumbs up
