Very cool specimen worthy of some shelf space. A 6" chunk must be heavy. Is this out of a sedimentary deposit?

its over 2 pounds. Actually this is the biggest Ive personally seen. Im shure there are bigger out there but I haven't seen one. Don't know exactly where or when it was found. I found it on the front porch in a USPS box. The lavender/purple is pretty unique color for the yellow cat specimens.

Wow that's the most colorful example of that stuff I've ever seen and the first with a fortified center. Very cool!.....Mel

I had to do a little more research and did a Google search of Utah Barite and Yellow Cat and came up with a lot of interesting photos of agate after barite, but nothing that resembled your little treasure. You might have a rare one.
