Today I worked in San Gorgonio Pass - Banning, CA. All the mobile home people have gardens/rocks/figurines all or some combination of these three. This is yesterdays memory: The lady that owned this one wasn't home.

Cactus blooms rock. Those are off de chart. Some kind of barrel cactus ? No, in this case the actual cactus was really ugly. Not a barrel, not one of the beaver tails... this one is like Jeans San Pedro, smaller and more like a grumpy old man version with heavy spines and rough crinkled skin and sick looking skin color. In reality these are characters of this particular cactus in happy happy mode, but ugly it was!

Nice one, Scott! I think it's very pretty. I like cacti, and can grow them just fine, but don't ask me what kind they are. Found a really great website ( cactiguide.com/ ) for ID'ing them. Photos and keys for doing it yourself, if you are so inclined. There's also a forum for extry help ( cactiguide.com/forum/ ) Just what I need, another forum, lol.
