There is a reason AZ swells with Northerners every Winter. You better come see us in Quartzsite. We have friends that stay in an RV park outside Tucson for part of the Winter. They let them set up and sell from their RV space. You might find places like that around Quartzsite too. Another guy stayed in Parker and made jewelry. They had weekly "craft shows" at the RV park. He sold a lot of his work every week and took custom orders from the customers.

True, John. My mom is always complaining about the traffic and crowds when the snowbirds are in town but she likes my visits so guess she'll put up with one more now...lol. Good ideas, I'll have to check into doing that to finance my wandering lifestyle now. And, of course I'll stop to see you when Quartzsite comes around again, Gypsy would never forgive me if I didn't let her visit her buddy.

We will be doing the Pow Wow only next year. I hope to get to town a few days early and rock hound a little. Never could rock hound while at Desert Gardens unless we closed up.

John, yeah, ain't that a b!tch when work gets in the way? I always appreciated you being there at Desert Gardens, now will have to make a point of finding you at the Pow Wow. Ya don't want to miss out on the fun of the field trips!! So much to do, so little time.
Diane, I am TOTALLY expecting to see you at Q in 2015, wouldn't be the same without you (to pick on, tease you, etc., lol!)

Just be careful who you hang out with on the hounding trips John. Some of them will steal your precious rocks. Jim

What was it Diane said? Oh, yeah - "Possession is 9/10s of the law," LOL.
Personally, I would have given you the second half, Jim. Dang, but I've got some great memories of that trip!

Just remember-if it weren't for my foot Dianne never would have found the second part of the rock. That was a fun time.

Nope. The saga of the blue rock and the picture of Jim under the cactus should go down in RTH infamy.

Right on, Russ! I'll second that! Diane will not EVER live this one down, lol.
Diane, I forgot to mention, one thing you will absolutely need to do is make sure that you have some way to jack up your trailer, should you ever get a flat. We had a flat going out to Potholes by Yuma on Christmas Eve last year, when we found that the bottle jack in my truck was not going to work. It was too tall to fit under the axle. Fortunately, one of us has the capability of thought. I pulled a couple blocks of firewood out of the truck bed, and we used them as ramp/block to run the good tire onto, lifting the flat tire into the air. Although it did not lift the flat all the way off the ground (has spring based axle, so flat tire lifted a little, but stayed on the ground), it was enough to get the bottle jack under the axle to raise it the rest of the way.
A jack like this would do the same thing link
although some feel that you'd be better off using a bottle jack to lift the frame on one side (from between the tires). They think you should not put one side worth of the trailer's weight on just one tire. Probably a smart thing. But we were running light, didn't have the added weight of a quad inside at the time. It worked okay for us. Just saying, better to find out you can handle a flat in advance, than to have one and not be prepared.
And yes, I have found that to be true - you don't play well with others, lol! Oh, you will NEVER live this one down.

Oh well at least I'm infamous now...lol. GMTA Jean, I bought a product just like that one only it's called Trailer Aid. Same general principal of getting the flat tire off the ground enough to change it. I even bought the one that is a little taller than the basic model so I'd be sure it would work for my trailer. Haven't tested it out but probably should...maybe when the wind stops blowing or it gets a little bit warmer. Kinda chilly and cold wind here right now.

Hey Diane you can get a hitch packer type platform that attaches to the trailers rear bumper and put a big box on it to keep your generator, gas hose etc in. where are you mow? I am in Va. at my parents n then heading home to Nc.

Well shucks Bill you should be on your way back here since we're going on another trip to Succor Creek. I can possibly put a platform on the trailer but would rather just haul that stuff in my truck.
