Not exactly new but it has been a very long time since if ever I have posted anything on here. I usually post over on another lapidary forum where it seems many of you also post but it seems that the rightful "owner" has returned out of the blue and is not pleased with what his "children" have done with his creation and has caused a "flood" or at least rocked the ark a bit so here I am, ta DA!! In the past I was really involved in making silver jewelry but when the price of silver went from the high tens dollar wise the the fifty dollar mark I quit making silver jewelry and went to cold connected copper and brass. Not as nice looking as a well made silver piece but fun in it's own right. So I'm back to forging again after a long period of being away from blacksmithing large sculptural pieces. I used to do a fair amount of fine art bronze casting but that is in the past to due to back injuries that limit amount that can be lifted and an uncooperative shoulder joint. You just don't want to be lifting a pot full of liquid bronze with either physical infirmity. I started making my lapidary equipment a couple of years ago with tutorials from here and while not the fastest they do however work and I can make a cabochon given enough time. I guess that about it.

Hi there, don't worry, things change, and from time to time a monkey-wrench is thrown in. While that has robbed me of writing a planed anniversary post for the sidebar, it might just about bring enough change to return more regularly if the core of people finally resurfaces (regardless that many of us do not feel it right as to how he suddenly resurfaced, as I told Mark last night). Anyhow, glad to have you here too and looking forward to continue having and reading your input.

Welcome back Bentiron! I lurk that site from time to time, as there is some impressive talent. In fact, I have been reading stuff there since 2009. Never had a desire to join though, RTH has been home for me since I started tumbling, and when I started reading posts on "another lapidary forum", I soon saw they enjoy saying negative things about RTH. That was enough to put me off. . . one-dimensional and a bit snooty.

Yeah, one time I posted a link "over there" to here and I got told "never, ever" do that again or I would be banned from "over there" because RTH was not a good place to visit, seemed kinda petty but as I had been "over there" with a friend I didn't chance it again. I just want some place that has very little drama right now.
