It is a shame Ash. Sometimes man and animal clash. Like the Mesozoic adjective.

Alabama rattlers are not as smart as Georgia rattlers. Alabama is our nemesis and us Georgians have to keep them on their toes. They make coffee cups w/the handle on the inside of the cup. They are our beloved neighbors Yeah, he must've been slow, too. As I recall, they killed it by running it over with their truck and stomping the brake. That's why I said it was probably longer then it was when I got it.
You had said that all your trees leaned to the west because AL sucked, lol. Guess Georgia will be sucking in the storm system that just went through Alabama. Hang onto your hat!!

At least the Jag will make a quick kill Rick. A Jag almost killed me in a slow and painful way James. The repair bills came close to doing me in.

Read more: forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/thread/65459/another-big-rattler-south-land?page=2&scrollTo=740580#ixzz30Juouut2Just 3-5 inches of rain Jean. Same ole stuff Alabama has been sending us for millions of years. One of my dogs can hear or feel the storms as far as Birmingham about 150 miles away. When she perks up we turn on the weather radar to see what is happening. Had sticks and leaves all over the place from the first wave that hit this morning about 3AM. ha, I slept right thru it. After doing 5 Jeanadays worth of work yesterday I was tired. Did 7 Jeanadays today. Another deep sleep tonight. But front is scheduled to hit in a couple of hours. I flooded the water lilies to protect them from potential hail damage. a hail storm can ruin the crop for 3 weeks if they are out in the open, about half the crop.

Three to five inches of rain? That's like a half year's worth of rain here. Funny how dogs can pick up on little things - sounds, changes in air pressure, ghosts - and know something is going on. If you are smart enough, you can pick up on it from them. What's this 5 and 7 Jeanadays, that you can get done in one? Doubtful, incredulous (tapping foot, arms crossed). You know I can work circles around you, lol. And that is without a half bottle of ibuprofen. I know how to work...

Blazing Saddles, ha! I love that movie, although it's not PC these days. Understand about the brain cells being lost for good, Waco Kid!
Maggot, your Miss Storm sensor. "She tells" - what? Care to finish that thought, James? I am on pins and needles waiting, inquiring minds want to know, lol.
You didn't address the Jeanadays thing. You know the truth, James...

That's not quite what I had in mind when I said for you to address it, and you know it. (smiles) Six Jeanadays of work would probably take you two weeks to accomplish.

That is a big snake for sure! I think instead of leather for protection one would be better off wearing Kevlar pants, no fangs will go through that stuff.

I'd sure wear Kevlar pants in that country. But they might not solve all snake problems.
Once I was bait fishing on the Snake River (appropriate to the topic) in Idaho. I cast out into the shadow under a bridge where lunker trout sometimes like to lie. I sat down on a big black lava rock with my head just above the river bank. After a while I happened to glance behind me. A rattlesnake, maybe 3 or 4 feet long, was headed right at my face. It had probably seen my head and hat bobbing around and thought it had a nice easy dinner in sight. Snake bites to the head and face are not recommended. I'm afraid I went B.C. Comics on that viper. Remember the lady who pounded snakes flat with a club? I used a rock and thick logging boots to do the same thing. No regrets.

Remember the lady who pounded snakes flat with a club? I used a rock and thick logging boots to do the same thing. No regrets. A terrible snake bite killed a man very quickly in a fishing incident on Jackson Lake here in Georgia. Two guys fishing from a boat and one of them casted into the bush along the shore line. They motored over to retrieve the bait. A large moccasin was in the bush or on the shore wall and struck the man. It hit him on the jaw. His partner said he was unconscious in 5 minutes and felt that he was dead in 10-15 minutes. The doctor found a fang broken off in the fellow's jaw bone. Doctor indicating the location of the bite was the cause. The pugnacious pygmy rattlers are quick to bite here, maybe voted 'most likely to poison you' award. I see men's hands with scars running down the back of the hands and fingers longitudinally where the doctor relieved the swelling. I ask, and they say a pygmy rattler bit them.
