Ok heres my latest update...My tumbler stopped again last night, this afternoon I cleaned it out, so it didn't all turn into concrete.....everything the barrel is and all rocks are clean.......but my barrel looked like this(no slurry or anything), I don't know what I did wrong but I noticed my barrel turning and stopping and almost wanting to sit up on its side

I think my tumbler is just fried, so this is not an emergency

Will it turn the shaft without the barrel on it?

First...set the barrel on a flat hard surface and just give it a push and see if it rolls fairly well or wobbles a bit....if it wobbles (hesitates while rolling) ...remove a few of the bigger rocks...down to 1/2 full.. add just a few tablespoons of water and try rolling again. When it rolls and clunks with the rocks moving inside...put it back on tumbler.

or is it the motor, all I have left to put in it is a few tblspoons of fine grit, im out of coarse...should I pick and choose the smoothest ones and add the air soft bb pellets I have laying around and see if it spins? if so how much grit and how much water, I hate to start it again to waste everything

More then likely the O-rings are belts like a thumler belt.. Belt would be too loose from wear. If it looks ok you could just tighten it slightly.. they run loose...not tight! So if ya try tightening the belt..don't make it tight!

From what I see you have plenty of grit in barrel...and taking out those 3 biggest rocks I can see "should" let the rest tumble.. and add some water.. take out 3 or 4 of the big rocks and shake heck out of it after ya put the top on... put it on tumbler and see if it rolls..

When ya roll the barrel across a table it will hesitate a little...but you will be able to hear the rocks moving.

It looks like a lockup of the rocks inside...lotsa grit stuck to sides where it's not been hit by moving rocks.

I would say that if the barrel is turning for a bit then stops, it sounds like a belt in need of replacement. But if you add in the fact that the barrel tries to sit up when it stops, it means the load is all at the bottom of the barrel! Add a little more water to it and let it go and you should be fine once everything loosens up. the foam you see is ok as there is grit moving in the foam, but I definitely think you need more water....I would say a shot glass or 2 tops should be enough to get it moving again!! Good Luck with it!!

Tumbleon - just like StephenT said- remove a few rocks & reduce the weight, add a little water & fire that puppy up. I found with mine (also cheap HF) that too much weight would stop it in it's tracks, so if it tells you it'll run 3lbs- stop at about 2.5 (including water & filler) and see how that works out for you. I found that reducing my weight really helped and since I've started that I haven't had any issues with mine - yet - as I know it's just a matter of time - but hopefully I'll have the $$ for a Lot-O vibe and can reduce these to 60-90 grinds only.
