Both of these pieces have a sturdy pin-back glued-on bail. This one was made at the request of a close family friend for her momma for momma's day. The recipient lives in Montana and her husband (our friends daddy) is also an old rock hound. They are both in their upper 80's and she likes to wear brooches more than pendants. {edited to add: Montana agate wrapped in sterling silver} This one was for my my own momma. She's also in her upper 80's and also loves to wear brooches to church ... plus she already possesses 7 of my pendants so I wanted to try something different this momma's day. She saw and fell in love with the tiffany stone in a pendant I gave my sister for watching our dog while we went running around Nevada a couple of weekends ago. It was a little rushed because the first cab I made this wrap for broke when I was doing the final fitting into the wire so I had to go back and fashion a new cab to fit the wire. On top of that my little tumbler I used for pendants decided to break yesterday so it hasn't had a good cleaning yet in this picture. Still, everyone seems to like how it turned out and she wore it proudly all day haha.

Not sure if this is a duplicate posting....but Very clever & nicely done! Very appropriate...a piece of Montana agate I presume. Thanks for posting, Tommy. Ivan

Those are both very nice. I especially love the tiff. It looks very pretty and delicate especially in the hand. What kind of glue did you use? I made some brooches years ago, using incorporated wire, but I haven't done any in so long that I'm sure I've forgotten. I can't find spring hard sterling anyway.

Your brooches could also be scarf pins, to keep the scarf in place. I'm not into brooches for myself, but I do wear scarf pins.
Beautiful job! Beautiful pieces!

cool idea and the wraps are both great. I am not a big fan of glue on hardware anymore but I still get requests for cheaper pendants with glue on bails. I have learned the hard way that even 2 part epoxy does not always bond well to super shiny surfaces so now anytime I glue anything to a cab I use a diamond bit to rough up the area that is getting glue and that sure seems to make a difference in bond.
Glad to hear how well they were received as well.
